The Life Skills Program is geared to assist newcomers with their integration into Canadian society
The goal of the program is to increase the clients´ employability skills by promoting self-reliance, enhancing self-esteem and increasing knowledge, attitude and skills of clients
The program also assists clients accessing community agencies and government services by providing information and referrals.
Funding
The Life Skills Program is funded by United Way of Windsor-Essex County.
Eligibility
Canadian Citizens not born in Canada, Permanent Residents, Convention Refugees and Refugee Claimants are eligible for services offered through the Life Skills Program.
The Program
Life Skills provides newcomers and immigrants with the tools they need to be successful in Canada through:
An understanding of Canadian Society and the life skills necessary in specific areas such as culture shock, goal setting, self-esteem, and knowledge of services available in the community.
Understanding Canadian work culture and how to cope with unemployment or being underemployed.
Facilitation of the employment process by providing newcomers and immigrants with career development, job search techniques, training information, resources and job leads.
Providing referrals to other community service providers.

The office is open 9am to 5pm Monday through Thursday and Fridays 9am to 4pm.
