Women from four ethno-cultural communities: East Asian, South Asian, Middle Eastern/West Asia and Continental Africa

A research study funded by the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and conducted in partnership with the University of Windsor

In-depth interviews with 20 women from each of the above groups will be conducted in August/September 2006.

Focus groups will be held with health providers connected to breast health services from prevention to treatment. (October 2006)

Health Promotion workshops will be conducted for women from ethno-cultural groups and health care providers. ( March 2007)

Community Forums are held to discuss the project. The next forum is November 29, 2006

When

Began in January 2006 and continues until June 2007

How

The project employs four women, one from each of the above groups, to be a cultural/community liaison. These women will conduct the in-depth interviews in the language of choice or arrange for interpreters if they are unable to speak the preferred language.
